Sale-A-Bration Open House Project #2

The other project that everyone made at my open house was a box using the Box #2 Bigz XL Die.  We used two of the boxes and adhered them back to back to create a box that looks kind of like a small beverage carry box.  You can
use it as a gift for teachers, party hosts, friends, neighbors and fill it with candy, note cards, post-it notes and a pen, tea or coffee packets….just about anything.  This box gives a small gift an extra special little touch.

We had a great time today at our Sale-A-Bration open house.  Everyone had the opportunity to look at all of the items available during Sale-A-Bration and many of the items from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Attendees had the opportunity to make one card and one box.  The card is pictured in this post.  I love how you can punch out the greeting and it fits right in the center of the main stamp in the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set.

This one was pretty simple, but it was fun to use a different material to make the flower.  Any guesses???….  Ok, ok, it is a coffee filter!  I stamped all over the coffee filter.  Then I punched out three of the flowers, crumpled them up, distressed with Early Espresso.  I then sponged it with Melon Mambo, layered the three flowers and bound them together with a brad.

December is slipping away…

I have to apologize, I am way behind on blog posts. Just like all of you, it seems that the holidays keep us too busy. I wanted to share with all of you the cards from my Monday night tech/card club.  Remember….we are looking for a few more members for our Saturday morning group.

December Tech Club #1

This card is made using the marbeling technique. I first poured a little bit of shimmer paint onto a plate, dabbed it with a crinkled up piece of plastic wrap. I dabbed it off a pit onto the plate so that it would not be too thick and then dabbed it on my piece of very vanilla cardstock. I then set it aside to dry a bit while I completed the rest of the card. Then I stamped the image with Staz On black and colored it in with our Stampin’ Write markers. Once you are done coloring, wipe the image with a paper towel as the water based markers do not dry well on the shimmer paint.

Retreat Weekend a Success!

November Weekend Retreat Crew!

The Stamp/Scrapbook retreaters were super productive and got a lot done this weekend.  One finished started a finished
a Wedding Scrapbook, one made about 30 cards and another made headway on her Christmas cards and finished over 50 cards.  It was a fun, relaxed environment and the consensus was that I should do one of these a quarter. I am thinking about it, so watch out for up-coming dates after the holidays! I am thinking late January or early February – so if you have date preferences, post them here and I will do my best to work around them.
