More Christmas Scrapbook Spreads!

I have to admit my creative juices on this series are lacking a bit, thankfully simple is good and I went with that approach on this 2 page spread.

Here are the supplies for this two page spread:

Get them while you can, supplies in the Holiday Mini that will not be available after January 3

Extra-Large 2.5” circle punch

Bigz XL Die Tasteful Trim

Other Supplies:

Sizzix Big Shot

Scrapbooking with some Facebook Memories!

Don’t forget to add some of your favorite facebook posts to your pages.  This helps tell the story and the comments from friends are memorable.  In 20 years, your kids are not going to remember what facebook was and it will also give them a snippet of history.

My Year Seven Scrapbook Cover Page

Since the scrapbooks I am working on are really for the girls and they will eventually receive them, I have organized the books by their birth year.  I start their books on their birthday of their respective year and end them with any events that happen right before their next birthday.  The first page in their book is usually a picture of the two of them and I usually put something on the page that indicates what year (their age) it is.  This page is their cover page for their year 7 album.  I loved this picture that I took of them at our Church on Christmas and decided it was  the perfect one to start their album.  With our gorgeous Designer Series Paper, I didn’t really have to do a whole lot to make this a successful simple page.  And yes, I used some ribbon this time!

Scrapbook Chapters – Christmas 2010 (#1)

I am likely to continue with a similar color scheme throughout all of my Christmas pages for 2010.  I tend to do this when I have several pages for a particular subject….Like Christmas 2010!  It is kind of like a chapter in a book, it tends to be about a particular subject or storyline and eventually there becomes a transition from one part of a story to another.  It all contributes to the overall book but at different points throughout the book it makes sense to start and end a chapter.  I always find it easier and faster to get many pages done when I have similar colors, designer series paper, stamp sets and accessories in front of me.  Less picking up and putting things away = more time for scrapbooking.

Year-End Scrapbooking!

Santa Scrapbook Page

I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday!  My relaxation starts this week as this is the week that the girls and I spend a lot of time catching up on our personal scrapbooking.  I am going to try and do my best to post my pages to my blog so be ready for several posts a day.  My style has recently turned into My Digital Studio meets Traditional Scrapbooking.  I organize my pictures and then submit them through the My Digital Studio software.  I actually print it off on my own personal computer so the color isn’t exact like it would be if you sent it in for the company to print. But, I don’t think it is too bad and I really enjoy how quickly I can get a variety of lay-outs, picture sizes and etc.  Once I print it out I then scrapbook those pages up onto traditional 12×12 pages and add embellishments.  Most of you know I LOVE ribbon, but I tend to forget about my buttons and brads.  I am challenging myself to use alternative forms of embellishments this week!

I’ve been busy…

I have been busy the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on my Christmas Cards and a number of other holiday projects / gifts.  I’ll have to post some pictures in the coming days…

Last month, I showed you a box that I loved.  I decided to make a couple to wrap up some gifts for a couple of my friends!

Missing in Action – I’m Back!

I know, I know, I have been missing in action for awhile.  I have been really busy at both my full-time job and with my Stampin’ Up! events and it has taken every spare minute just to keep up on the events.  I will highlight some of them in my up-coming blog posts from my first Stress Free Birthday Party to the Craftin’ at the Clarion Stampin’ Up! retreat weekend.  I finished 17 scrapbook pages and got a start on our Christmas cards.  Now, I can’t put up a blog post without also posting a picture of a project.  The following are pages I did at a Scrapbooking Class with a great group of women.  I used the embossing envelopes to create a textured look on the leaves.

A Grand Old Page!

Grand Old Page!

It has become a tradition to attend the Grand Ol’ Days with my family and this is the 2nd year in a row that the girls have participated in the kiddie parade.  We found it funny that not only did Emma really want to be a clown this last year, but we happened to run into these professional clowns walking on the street – it was a definite Kodak moment!

Scrappin’ about Waterpark Memories!

Waterpark Page

I absolutely love waterparks and just like any kid, I would stare at the slides shooting out of the Waterpark of America Hotel every time we would drive by.  But as a local resident, you don’t just check in to hotels on a regular basis, soooooo…..when we had to leave our house for a few days during the construction, I thought what better time to take in the local tourist attraction!  I knew the girls would ove it too and boy did they deserve it after all of the disruption the construction caused in their lives.  Although bearable, I can only imagine what it felt like for a 5 year old to be stuck in just a few over-crowded rooms in our house.

Another Scrapbooking Milestone!

I’m done….I’m done….I’m done!  With spring break week off, I have officially completed my last page of the girls 5 year album.  I cannot wait to start their 6 year album and I may just work backwards because we had such a great week this week!  We were so fortunate to have great weather to do a variety of outside activities.  But…we did get a little shopping in and I can’t wait to get pictures with those new outfits I bought them.  I rarely splurge on new clothes because we are lucky to get a fair amount of hand-me-downs and I have a husband who is a very good shopper and he finds things on the clearance racks for about a dollar.  But…that kind of shopping rarely allows you to get a cute full outfit.  I am just as excited about it as they were when they found them.  Anyway…I digress!  On to the last page of their album.  Soccer…..
